The alpine strawberry bed flanking the brick path was finally given some attention. Old leaves were removed and the soil around the plants was cultivated. The strawberries this year are plentiful and sweet.
One of the window boxes was damaged by the rain within the past few days. As the rain came off the roof it hollowed out the dirt in the box and exposed the roots of the alyssum in the back row. Not to worry -- I have extra alyssum just for this purpose.
